1. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information AtomiScan collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. It applies to the AtomiScan website and application.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we receive from Clerk (our authentication provider) your email address, any name or profile details you voluntarily add, and a Clerk user identifier. We use this to authenticate you and associate your activity with your account.
Subscription and billing information. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details directly. We do not see or store full card numbers. We receive subscription status, the last four digits of the card, billing country, and billing events so we can manage entitlements.
Product preferences. Your cost profile (fees, shipping assumptions), saved deals, price alerts, and your acceptance of these legal terms (timestamp and version) are stored as part of your account so the product behaves consistently across your devices.
Usage data. We log technical request metadata (IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamps), interaction events (pageviews, outbound clicks on affiliate links), and error reports. This is used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and provide the Service;
- To process subscription billing and renewals;
- To personalize the Service based on your preferences (cost profile, saved deals, alerts);
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, security, and material changes to the Service;
- To measure and improve product quality (e.g., click-through rates on matched listings, error rates, feature usage);
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect our rights, users, and the Service from fraud or abuse.
4. Advertising and affiliate attribution
When you click an outbound “Buy” link, the destination marketplace (TCGPlayer, eBay, CardTrader, or similar) may set tracking parameters or cookies necessary to credit us with an affiliate commission if you complete a purchase. We do not control those third-party cookies, and they are governed by the destination’s own privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Service under contract — currently Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and our email provider;
- Affiliate networks as described above, solely to credit qualifying purchases;
- Authorities, when required by valid legal process or to protect our rights or the safety of users;
- A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets — subject to the same commitments set out here.
6. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet the purposes described above, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable window unless retention is required by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw any consent you have given. You can exercise most of these rights directly in-product (account settings) or by emailing support@atomiscan.com.
California residents can exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA. Residents of the EEA and UK can exercise rights under GDPR/UK GDPR. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, scoped access controls, and audited third-party providers. No system is perfectly secure; if you discover a vulnerability, please report it to security@atomiscan.com.
9. International data
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-product and will bump the internal terms version, re-prompting you to accept the updated legal package.
